ANKOM Technology, Macedon, New York, is a maker of highly respected laboratory
equipment for analysing the content of food stuffs ... fat, fibre etc. In 2003,
when they were developing a new family of fat analysers, they did their
research and decided that a SPLat off the shelf controller was the best fit for
their needs.
In the words of Shawn Ritchie. ANKOM's VP, Engineering & Manufacturing:
"
There is no comparable product on the market today for any price, which is
a strong testament to SPLat's visionary product development. ... The product
support is first rate. The programming language developed for SPLat is
intuitive and loaded with features. ... [SPLat is] extremely reliable. It's
sometimes hard to quantify the value of a component that doesn't fail, but we
are extremely grateful to have the SPLat controller in our current design".
ANKOM use the
MMi202 in a whole range of products. If you look closely you can
spot the characteristic layout of LCD and front panel buttons on many of their
instruments on their website. Their latest development, the
TDF Dietary Fiber
Analyzer, uses an MMi202 connected to a 3rd party touch screen HMI via ModBus.
