Name change

Our proprietary communications protocol has been renamed from LiveData to SPLatLink. This better reflects the expanding capability and broadening range of applications it is finding.

The original name was coined because we originally devised a method of peeking and poking at the data of a SPLat controller while running a program, as a debugging aid. As we enhanced the protocol, and introduced the SLCom ActiveX implementation, more and more users started using it in final systems, such as SCADA applications.

The ActiveX control will retain its name, SLCom, for compatibility reasons. However, a new ActiveX with a new name and greatly enhanced capabilities will be released probably 2Q04.
