SX10509: Ethernet/Internet "SPLat Call Home"
The SX10509 SPLat Call Home board provides your SPLat controllers with a versatile, easy to program means of communicating via the Internet. It is suitable for Machine To Machine (m2m) applications as well as remote monitoring and control involving interaction with end-users. SPLat Call Home technology minimizes Internet access problems caused by network security measures, while sophisticated data handling is easily provided by an Internet server.
Once the data from the SPLat is in the server (tutorial showing how simple this can be, with a fully worked example to get you started), the possibilities are limited only by server programming. This includes
- Remotely viewing controller operating data/status via a web browser;
- Sending commands back to the SPLat controller, for example to change a setting or enable an operation;
- Generating email notifications, for example weekly performance summaries;
- Generating text messages via an SMS gateway, for example alarms;
- Logging long term data, for example production stats, energy savings in a solar installation;
- Integration into other web-based enterprise systems, for example asset management.
